(PRWEB) February 16, 2009 -- Contails Ltd has launched the beta version of the Contails.com site, which allows users to share the ubiquitous contact lists found in mobile phones, e-mail clients, social networking sites, instant messengers, or personal organizers. Contails.com allows contact lists to be stored and shared securely, as well as to gain new contact information from friends, or fill out the existing contact list with missing data, like a phone number or an e-mail address. The site also provides an easy way to synchronize contact lists stored in many locations, such as different mobile phones – all free of charge.
The system is based around collecting and sharing contact lists. This can be done using the rich selection of social networking tools that Contails.com offers to its users. They can import selected contacts from another user in the system, or get the missing contact details for a specific person from a mutual friend. There are also many ways in which Contails.com helps users to stay on track with updating the information in one's contact list. For example, the site can point you to the person in your friends list who has the phone number or address you are looking for.
“Contails.com is a safe and free solution to most problems arising in handling contact lists," explains Dawid Wójcicki, CEO of Contails Ltd.
“The system makes it possible to gather contact information located in different places into one single, easily accessed Contact List. We use Contails.com ourselves, and like the way the system connects us to other people with our Contact data in the network, while remaining constantly secure. At Contails, we believe your Contacts are your friends."
One of the many useful tools available at Contails.com is the contact labeling feature. Contact labeling enables the users to assign selected contacts to contact groups (friends, work, family, etc.). This way, people who regularly use more than one mobile phone can easily determine which contacts should be uploaded to which of their phones, and which should be imported into their e-mail client.
The website is developing rapidly. Right now, the new public API allows users to handle the most important contact management functions. More and more features are currently being implemented, such as the automated friend suggestion tool, and extended synchronization capability.
“Our priority is data security. This is why we recommend the use of an SLL-protected connection to our servers, provided free of charge," says Dawid Wójcicki. “In this vein, we are planning to implement several other security measures, such as a guarantee of protection against the loss of the stored contact information, as the so-called ‘contact list restore points,’ or encryption technology for connections made during the synchronization of contact lists stored on mobile phones.”
Contails.com allows the users to:
• Add and import contact lists directly from mobile phones and e-mail clients, or from exported contact list files in many common formats.
• Merge Contacts with people in the User’s Friends list
• Find Friends with the contact information we are looking for
• Extend the contact information for a given person in our contact list by importing the missing data from contact lists stored by other site members
• Synchronize and update contact information, using contact lists stored in mobile phones and e-mail clients
• Add labels to contacts and organize them by the assigned mobile phone or Friend group
• Store and export their Contacts - an easy to upload contact data to a new phone, an e-mail client, or any other means of storing contact information
